Tag 243 – Laaaaangweilig!
Day 243 – Boooooring!
Nothing is happening – the S3 is still blocked as are many other roads, we cannot move forward or back (we wouldn´t want to drive back anyway). It is peaceful here in Combapata, but in other parts of the country airports are closed and there are reports of dead and injured people due to confrontations of protesters with the police.
We stay in contact with the new friends we made here in Perú – Susan and Michael from California who are in lockdown in Cuzco together with their daughters (at least they are in a very nice hotel); Stephan from Styria, who is marooned in Lima; and Sylvia and Richard from Zurich who are in the Pisco region right now, where at the moment everything is peaceful without any blockades.
Then I chat some time with police officer Mario – he would love to travel himself; Switzerland and Austria are on the top of his wish list. And because he notices that I am a bit desperate, he advises me to have to “paciencia”. If I only knew what that is and where to order it – nonsense, wouldn´t help, couldn´t be delivered anyway due to the road blocks!
In der afternoon, we are allowed to connect our brave camper to an electricity outlet at the parish, and the Señora at the minimarket has fresh bread. It is raining, fog is crawling slowly down the mountains, Sigi is organizing his laptop, and I am booooored!
